Let’s be honest — tea bags have developed a bit of a negative reputation over the years. For many of us, they are still associated with paper sachets on supermarket shelves that hide fine tea "dust." When brewed, they yield a dark color and a bitter taste, but very little of the real aroma.

But does convenience have to mean compromising on quality? Absolutely not.
When creating the new Graudupes tea collection, we carried out thorough research and flavor experiments. We sampled countless types from various producers and distributors until we selected the exact teas and flavor combinations that truly captivated us.
Our goal was to find tea pyramids that preserve all the richness of flavor that loose-leaf tea provides, while making preparation so simple that you can enjoy your little moment of peace even on the busiest workday.
Here is what lies behind this pyramid shape and why our selected teas will change your perspective on bagged tea.
1. What's Inside the Bag: Leaves and Fruit vs. "Dust"
The biggest difference between an ordinary tea sachet and our selected pyramids is what’s inside.
Mass-produced paper bags most commonly use so-called CTC (Crush, Tear, Curl) tea or production leftovers — finely crushed tea leaves and dust. They do yield color in seconds, but as a result, the tea’s essential oils and subtle flavor nuances are lost. To compensate for this, synthetic flavorings are often added.
In our selected pyramids, however, you will see a completely different picture:
- Whole, full tea leaves that haven't been crushed beyond recognition.
- Real pieces of dried fruit, berries, and flowers that offer natural sweetness, aroma, and true depth of flavor.
- The transparency of the pyramid is no coincidence — great tea has nothing to hide. You can immediately see every ingredient you are drinking.
2. The Physics of the Pyramid: Freedom for Flavors to Unfold
Why a three-dimensional pyramid instead of a flat paper envelope? The answer lies in space.
When a dried tea leaf comes into contact with hot water, it absorbs moisture and gradually expands — it unfolds. In a flat, narrow paper bag, the leaves simply have no room to move. They remain compressed, and the water cannot unlock their full flavor potential.
The pyramid shape acts like a small, transparent teapot substitute:
- Water circulates freely around the tea leaves and fruit pieces.
- The ingredients have enough space to swell and fully open up.
- The brew achieves a balanced, rich flavor without artificial bitterness.
3. Pure Flavor and Quality in Every Cup
When choosing suppliers for our collection, it was essential that the bag itself wouldn't affect the taste of the drink. Our selected teas are packed in high-quality, food-safe pyramids that contain no synthetic glues and leave no unwanted aftertaste. You taste only the tea and nature's own flavor notes — nothing extra.
How to Properly Brew a Tea Pyramid to Get the Most Out of It
To turn your tea break into a true ritual, keep a few simple tips in mind:
- Don't pour boiling water over it (especially for green tea): Allow the water to cool for 2–3 minutes (if brought to a full boil). Water that is too hot can "scald" the tea leaves and make the taste bitter.
- Give it time to open up: The pyramid usually needs about 3–5 minutes. Watch as the water changes color and the leaves slowly open — this small moment of observation is a great break from your daily tasks in itself.
- Don't squeeze the bag with a spoon: Let the tea release its flavor naturally to maintain the drink's clarity and flavor balance. Simply lift the tea bag above the cup and let it drain.
